i understand completely, i didn’t start competing until i was a freshman so i was pretty behind. the only advice i can give you is to practice, practice, practice! it’s really the only way to get better quickly. doing dryland exercises to strengthen your abs, shoulders, and legs is also helpful on your days off from the pool. i have asthma too and i found that taking my inhaler like right before i get in the pool is the most helpful. good luck!
